Having trouble getting set up within XBMC to use MPC-HC for files that I want to bitstream. Found a guide on MediaSmartServer.net that shows how to set it up. I copied the XML file, adjusted it to match my file location of MPC and changed the rule to look for files with the phrase 'DTS-HD' in them, as those are the only ones I would like to use MPC for within XBMC.
I have tried different ways of telling it to use only the files with DTS-HD in them without success. I'm not sure if it matters, but I am using the 64bit version of MPC-HC (and adjusted the filename as such) Here is my playercorefactory.xml code. Not for sure about this but I have been working on the same sort of thing with xbmc.
I am trying to use mpc-hc for 1080 files. I think you must have 1080 or for that matter DTS-HD in your file or directory name.
I don't think it can 'read' if your actual file has this inside or not but I renamed one of my directories.2012 (2009) 1080 and it changed the default player from xbmc's dvd player to mpc-hc. Not for sure about this but that worked for me last night. Could only get that file to play through the xbmc's player with the directory named 2012 (2009). Hope that helps. I do have the folder that the MKV is in named with 'DTS-HD', as well as the MKV file itself having moviename DTS-HD.mkv. Can you post your playercorefactory.xml by any chance? Dan, will give it a look now, thanks!
